Eroica Trio came to town Monday night with their classical performance of Gershwin, O'Connon, and Bernstein. They entertain full house at Ravinia's Martin Theater. As anyone who comes to Ravinia knows there is always a space outside for people and families to enjoy the music.

Chris Gardner Discussion and Signing for "Start Where You Are: Life Lessons in the Pursuit of Happyness" - August 12, 2009

Chris Gardner Discussion and Signing for "Start Where You Are: Life Lessons in the Pursuit of Happyness" at Borders Books on State Street, Chicago, IL, USA - August 12, 2009

In 2006 The Pursuit of Happyness – the #1 New York Times bestselling memoir and blockbuster movie starring Academy Award nominee Will Smith -- introduced the world to Chris Gardner and his poignant journey from homeless single fatherhood to the pinnacle of Wall Street. With his sudden fame, he found himself besieged by millions of people all over the world wanting to share their own stories of struggle and triumph, and hoping to gain answers to two important questions: "How did you do it?" and "How can I do it too?"

Responding to this overwhelming interest, that has recently intensified as thousands of people who have been forced to start over with little or nothing, Gardner at last shares the philosophy and hard work behind his emotional, financial and spiritual success in Start Where You Are : Lessons in the Pursuit of Happyness. Having conquered seemingly impossible challenges on his way to becoming a wealthy entrepreneur, in-demand speaker, dedicated activist and international role model for world leaders and the everyman alike, Gardner knows all about overcoming obstacles, breaking cycles and realizing dreams. His aim in Start Where You Are is to give back by motivating others to achieve their full potential -- beginning right now and capitalizing on the resources already in place while building towards bigger goals and ambitions.
